The Phoenix Club is a group of women with substantial life experience who meet monthly to find ways to use our time and skills to build new friendships and enrich the lives of those around us. We explore topics of cultural and practical interest, using our collective knowledge and experiences as well as the expertise of invited speakers.
For our March session, Alice Trimmer will share “A Dip into Bioethics.” On a whim, Alice signed up for a course in Bioethics last fall via Zoom. It turned out to be much more work than she had expected, but was well worth the effort. She will review the broad outlines of the origins and scope of this field of philosophy and how they influence many of the important decisions we make about our own medical care and those who may depend on us for advice and help.
